Synopsis

Tasha Skinner finally shed the baggage of a failed marriage. Now, she’s looking forward to a night of margaritas and man-bashing. Tasha’s friends have other plans, including Leather, Lace and liberation.

Dylan Caprese didn’t want to go to Marquee, but he and his friends were on a mission. They took it upon themselves to make sure things didn’t get out of hand when wannabe Doms mixed alcohol with playtime at the monthly Leather and Lace night.

From the moment he set eyes on Tasha, he knew there was something different about her. She wasn’t some bondage babe who thought she knew what it meant to be into BDSM. She was much, much worse; she was innocent and trusting. He can tell she is something precious.

When Tasha’s past threatens to destroy her, Dylan begins to realize that while their paths have never crossed, their lives most definitely have. Will he be able to save her before it’s too late?

My View

Those that know me, know I am a complete sucker for a hot book cover & let’s face it it’s a hot book cover.  In fact most of you visiting my blog today aren’t here to read my review, you are just gawping at the picture, am I right?  Yep thought so.

But hey *clicks fingers* bear with me for a minute because my review is worth reading.

Dylan, Dylan, Dylan *sighs*, 6 foot 6 inches, shaved head and tattoos.  Shall I leave you to think about that for a minute?  Ok you back with me? He’s 34 so he’s not a boy and he knows what he likes and what he wants and that is somewhat refreshing in a book. He was honest, spoke his mind and went after Tasha to make her his but he was mature enough not to rush her, given her past history.  He was a Dom with a heart.

Tasha is still finding herself after a messy divorce, she needs to get back out there and with the help of her best friend Holly that’s exactly what she does.  She has lost her self-confidence and Dylan is just the guy to restore it.

This book will keep you guessing, it does not answer all your questions as you go, so be patient because it’s worth it and I love a good male POV, and Sloan switches well between Tasha & Dylan’s POV.

We meet Dylan’s friend Zeke who exclaims upon seeing Tasha for the first time “Holy Angel of Fuckdom” and I think then I knew I was going to like him.  And I did.

Dylan & Tasha’s relationship moves fast, but not unrealistically so. Some scenes are recalled as a memory of what happened rather than in real time, so when Tasha was recalling certain experiences from the night before she got caught out daydreaming at work – well girls we’ve all done that right?  Getting ourselves a little flustered recalling the details – yep been there!  And she had some hot experiences to daydream about.

I could have spent so much more time with Dylan & Tasha but before I knew it I was coming to end of this journey with them, I felt happy & sad at the same time but satisfied with where they were.  But if Ms Johnson should wish to give me more Dylan and Tasha I certainly wouldn’t say no.

At the end of this book we get a taster of Book 2 in this series, Holly’s book (Unexpected Protector) and given what happened in this book I think we really need to learn her story so I for one cannot wait.

So now you may go back to drooling over the cover but please do make the time to read it too, you’ll want to get to know Dylan that I can promise you.
