**Spotlight and Review* Salvation by Stephanie John

Salvation by Stephanie John
(Heal me #1)

A chance meeting turned my world inside out.

Intelligent, sexy, and rich. With a dash of roguish charm and a cocksure smile, Nathan Blake is the ultimate fantasy. He can have any woman he wants with only a glance.

And he wants me.

My past has left me broken and humiliated, wary of men like him.
I cut myself off from the pain, moving thousands of miles away to escape every reminder, determined to start anew.

I’ve been second best before. It isn't happening again.

One kiss and I'm caught under his spell, drawn to him with every breath I take.
I can't resist.
The passion that explodes between us becomes an intense connection
neither of us thought we’d share. Or need.

The suffering inside me reflects his – a pain I know he feels, but can’t bring himself to reveal.

I have no idea his love can heal me – that mine can heal him…
…if only I can let down my guard for him and trust.

Kara Collins is a talented, intelligent, and gorgeous accountant that is new to the states. She moved to LA after leaving her childhood home in England following a devastating broken heart. She has serious trust issues, and refuses to allow anyone to really see her....until a chance meeting with the CEO.

Nate Blake is all male, and undeniably gorgeous. When he sees Kara for the first time in the waiting area of his fifteenth floor office, he can't help himself. He has to meet her, and with one touch he knows Kara is different. He is determined to pursue her, and when she turns him down, his shock quickly gives way to a sense of challenge.

After a long minute when I thought he might’ve hung up, Blake quietly warned, “We will happen, Miss Collins.”

Kara meets his persistence with a determined tenacity of her own, refusing to become another notch on his bedpost. Their attraction is impossible to ignore, and Nate is positively brutal in his pursuit.

My tongue darted out to wet my lips. His gaze darkened as he leant closer and murmured, “Those luscious full red lips are begging to be kissed. Keep licking them? See what happens.”

The ensuing dance between them is sexy, sensual, and incredibly erotic....especially when Kara finally gives into Nate's persistent seduction and the electric attraction between them. As past hurts come to the forefront, fear nearly drives them apart.

Tears welled in my eyes. I couldn't imagine my life without him either. “I’m scared you're going to break my heart,” I blurted out of nowhere. “I can’t break it, baby. It’s already broken.” His forearms framed my head, his hands coming to brush the hair from my face as he moved inside me, his breaths coming heavier and deeper. “I’m going to fix it back together again. I promise you that.”

Their attraction grows into an all consuming love, but challenges and insecurities await the couple. The question soon arises...will their love be enough?

I will admit, when I first read the synopsis for Salvation, I thought it was going to be another predictable storyline of alpha male billionaire meets troubled beauty and turns her life upside down.  A story where his forceful nature sparks something in her, and makes her face her demons and heal her wounds.

I was wrong.

Nate Blake is the epitome of alpha male….gorgeous, well dressed, body of a god, dripping with sexual promise, and as persistent as an alpha male should be.

Nate Blake is also refreshingly REAL.

His unabashed pursuit of Kara is expected.  His gentle treatment, loving nature, and boyish moments of insecurity were the opposite, and incredibly endearing.  Nate will make you fall in love with him as quickly and surely as the sun will rise.

Kara Collins is a completely relatable heroine, with trust and body image issues that most of us have experienced ourselves. Her beauty goes far deeper than her golden hair, captivating eyes and mile-long legs, though. She is incredibly intelligent, brave, and kind, with an internal strength many of us long for.

I was enraptured and enthralled with the story, and Stephanie's descriptions of the environment, emotions, and situations her characters found themselves in were intoxicating. It set the tone for the book, and allowed me to see and feel exactly what she intended us to.

I can't wait to see what awaits Nate and Kara in the next book.

Most days, you'll find Stephanie John on a yacht, wearing a very skimpy bikini, drinking champagne, eating chocolate and never gaining weight.

When she isn't asleep and dreaming, in real life you're more likely to find her at the school gates, wearing whatever she dragged on that morning, drinking copious amounts of coffee. She still eats chocolate, though -- everyone has their vices, right?

Somehow, amidst the chaos of full-time mummy duties, she manages to write. Contemporary romance has always been her favourite genre to read for as long as she can remember (age-appropriate, of course).

Never in a million years did it occur to her to write one of her own. Now, she couldn't imagine doing anything else.
