With her marriage dangling by a thread, Phoebe fears a future with Justin may no longer be possible.

Refusing to give up, Justin fights for the life they used to share. But when he stumbles upon what could be the missing piece to Phoebe's past, he is faced with a choice that could cost him everything.

When you feel like all hope is lost, is there a love that can transcend all and revive a broken soul?

Excerpt

My mind has become consumed with anger, bitterness and resentment.  With my mother gone, pieces of my past have been lost forever.  I had desperately tried to respect my mother’s wishes and not ask about my father.  But deep inside, not knowing the truth left me feeling empty and incomplete – as if a part of me were locked away, just beyond my grasp.  I'd always assumed that my mother would eventually tell me the truth – when she was ready.  But now that she is gone, I don’t know how to cope with the fact that I will never truly understand who I am.

Justin doesn’t understand. I don’t think he ever really understood why it was so important for me to get answers. I should have known better than to try to talk to him about what I was feeling.  I wish I could rid myself of these terrible thoughts and haunting dreams. But I can’t and I'm spiraling out of control.  I feel myself slipping away from reality and from those around me.  I'm keeping everyone at a distance.  I'm terrified to let anyone see the person I’ve become.  But in doing so, I'm alienating every person who was ever close to me and feel more alone than ever.

Nicola's 5 star Review

“You don’t get to choose what happens in life, but you can choose how you let what happens shape your life. If you search hard enough, you can find sweetness to drown out any sorrow.”

Erin has delivered a magnificent debut with ‘Absolute Love’ and has truly captured how a devastating loss can affect people and their loved ones. This is a story of second chances and loss; a woman’s struggle to fight through the darkness and a husband’s determination to fight for his family, and his wife.

Written in duel POV, we get to see both Phoebe and Justin’s lives after they have been separated. The love they have for one another as well as the fear of loss keeping them apart,

“I fear that I will never be free from the pain, the nightmares and the guilt. But worse than that, I’m petrified that Justin will see me the way I see myself...
...a bitter, vulnerable and weak woman, who no longer had control of her mind or her life.”

But also the hope that someday they’d overcome and be together again; that love will win.

I’m yours. Every fibre of my being is yours, yours to love, yours to need and yours to hold on to.”

It was obvious they still loved each other immensely, and I constantly held out hope that they would finally find their way into each other’s arms again.

Justin must realise that Phoebe needs more than just a shoulder to cry on, and as the saying goes “A problem shared is a problem halved’; Phoebe must learn to voice her concerns and struggles.

Dreams play an important role throughout the book, and give us a huge insight to the struggles Phoebe has lived with growing up without a father as well as other events that have happened. Her vivid and quite disturbing dreams of a faceless man always fading away when she gets too close. It makes your heart ache to see Phoebe’s desperation to know the truth even after her mother’s passing.

A truly wonderful book that I recommend to everyone. I loved the storyline, the characters and the emotions that Erin evoked while reading. The anger, heartache, resentment, love and hope; you feel it all.

It is a heartfelt yet tragic story; one which people experience on a daily basis and I very much look forward to the next book in this series as well as any future releases Erin brings us.

Congratulations Erin.

**Blog Tour** Get off on the Pain by Victoria Ashley

tag25GOOTP BT

Release Date: February 2, 2015

GOOTP Cover

Sexy, tattooed and inevitably dangerous. Memphis is all that and more…

I live for the pain; it’s what drives me to keep moving. But there comes a time when one has to push the demons aside in order to survive.

I thought I buried them deep. I thought I was ready to finally live. Until… my brother, Alex; he throws me into the fire—right into the place I could never control myself, the one place I never want to be again.

When I put my hands on people, they get hurt. Things happen that bring me back to that night. The one that will forever torment me.

I’m doing fine, keeping to myself in order to ensure no one gets hurt by me. Then along comes Lyric, and all I want to do is touch her, to put my hands in places that I know will only lead to her being crushed by me.

She’s the rush that I crave. The darkest of poison running through my veins, killing me bit by bit; like a drug I can’t get enough of even though I’m almost down to my last breath.

And being around her only hurts more, but what she doesn’t understand is that I welcome the pain; I get off on it, which in the end leaves me with the hardest decision of my life—one that might get us
all killed…

Get Off Teaser 03-2

Lyric steps away and laughs before walking over and stopping in front of me. She looks up into my eyes and licks her bottom lip. Her whole body is glistening with sweat now, and all I can think about is tasting every inch of her. “Dance with me, Memphis.”

I pull my eyes away from her lips and flex my jaw. As much as I want to put my hands all over, I need to fight it, but this fucking liquor isn’t doing much to help it.

“No, Lyric.”

She takes a step closer and runs her tiny, soft hand down my arm. “Just once. It’s not even a big deal. It’s just a dance. It’s not like I’m asking you to fuck me. I’m asking you to touch me.”

“You want me to touch you,” I growl. I roughly slide my hands over her hips before gripping her waist and slamming her up against the wall. Leaning in, I fist her hair in my hand and whisper in her ear. “Is this how you want me to touch you? Touching someone that I know always leads to them getting hurt.” I grip her waist tighter and press my body flush with hers. Her body trembles against mine and her breathing picks up as my bottom lip brushes over her ear. “I’m fucking tainted, Lyric. Running now would be your best option.”

She looks up into my eyes and wets her lips, fighting to catch her breath. “I. Want. You. To. Touch. Me. I’m not running anywhere.”

FUCK! Those words do me in.

T Birds 4 Bare Naked Stars Review ****

What an emotional ride this story turned out to be. I was entrenched in the emotions and denials throughout the whole story.  The frustration of Memphis pushing Lyric away would drive me insane, just as it did Lyric but I had the benefit of understanding why he was doing it.  The moment the truth came out and I realized why I was so protective and forgiving of him and his refusal to be loved, my heart melted even more.

Lyric is a strong, take no prisoner kind of woman.  She spends her time working in a piercing/tattoo shop and taking pictures.  Her family life was never stellar yet she created a “family” with her best friend Bailey.  Her world is about to take a sudden shift when the sexy tattooed man pulls up to the house next door.  That house had been vacant for a long time, yet no one was able to rent it, so who was this man who suddenly appeared and will become the driving force in causing chaos in Lyric’s rather calm life.  She never takes crap from anyone, they can shove her away, and she will stay.  Men can make passes and advances and she will offer to serve them their prized body parts on a silver platter.  She isn’t afraid to go after what she wants, express her feelings about things and she sees past the BS and into the soul of Memphis.

That sexy tattoo man, the one about to rock Lyric’s world is Memphis, fresh out of prison and on the search for his little brother Alex.  He has a plan, get his brother and get as far away from this hometown as possible.  Memphis use to fight, he thrived on the pain and he could beat just about any man who dared to walk into the ring.  While he was sitting behind the bars of prison he realized his life was over as he knew it, his mother and brother were on their own, his future will forever have a black mark on it and his guilt is going to kill him if he doesn’t make a fresh start.  Easy plan but hard to execute when he can’t find his brother at first and when he does, he realizes it isn’t going to be easy to leave.  What he is running from is the one thing forcing him to stay.  Now add the fact his heart needs Lyric but his head is telling him he isn’t good enough for her, we have an epic battles of wills that is going to lead to some fierce passionate tension.

Lyric sees the good in Memphis that he refuses to acknowledge and once you hear why he has kept himself in the mental prison it will break your heart.  He is going to give her the courage to go after her dreams; she will have to give him a reason to believe he is worth loving and forgiving.  Both are meant for each other and the journey they are about to embark on will claw at your heart.  I really enjoyed this book, the story and characters.  Alex is a fire cracker that you can’t help but love even though he is young and makes some dumb choices, you just get him.  Memphis will make you swoon over him and be willing to fight to fix him.  Lyric should be every young woman’s model of how to love a man and yourself at the same time.  Certainly a book I would recommend to those readers who love a suspenseful, intense romance that is created out of emotions and not just sex.

TBird's 5 star Review

I found this book to be one of the most beautifully written stories of love, redemption, loss and understanding.  Add in forgiveness and finding yourself and you have an epic read for 2015.  While Phoebe struggles to find herself through the darkness there is always a bright light within her reach.  It doesn’t matter how bad the situation is, what matters most is, are you willing to find the good in every situation.  Sometimes the truth hurts, sometimes the lies hurt worse, but no matter what, it is the motivation behind the truth or lies that will determine how you accept your fate.

The author did a brilliant job at keeping this story realistic.  She gives us the world of Phoebe in a way that any reader can connect with and understand the emotions and hopes that could have destroyed her or made her blossom into the woman she was meant to be.  We all grow up thinking we know about the generations before us, the ones who sacrificed and struggled to make the world we live in a better place today.  We know our grandparents, our parents, we hear the stories and make them part of our life story but for Phoebe, she was missing a huge part of her past, her father.  It wasn’t until the death of her mother that she was forced to accept those answers may never come, she will have to accept that she will be half a person for the rest of her life.  With building anger and resentment towards her mother confused with loss, love and guilt towards her as well, Phoebe’s life took a turn for the dark as she plummeted into depression.

She started questioning her relationship with her husband, who left her after a while because he couldn’t deal with her depression.  When her ex-boyfriend moved in next door, she was then faced with trying to accept what had happen between them years ago and find the truth that was denied all this time.  She would look in the mirror and not see the mask she had worn all these years.  It felt like the moment she shoveled the dirt on her mother’s coffin, she also buried the Phoebe the world had known.  The true broken soul of the real Phoebe emerged and she was left to be dealt with.

Throughout this story as the truth begins to unravel regarding her marriage, her past, who her father was and the real history of her mother, we see Phoebe begin to put back the pieces of her life, yet this time they are in the proper places.  As the theme in this book goes, it took the lemons that life threw at her to force her to find the sugar and make the lemonade.  It wasn’t easy for her to accept the things she had lost, the things never offered to her and the realization of how loved she really was in life but in order to move on she had to let go of the pain caused by the actions of others and look at their motivation behind the painful decisions.

The author uses a lot of flashback scenes and dream journals in this book as Phoebe goes back and looks at her past and finds the facts that had been hidden by denial and hopes all of these years.  As she found her awakening, we were there to experience it with her.

Absolute Love is highly recommended not only for the beautiful story but the message that will stay with me for a long time.  As my Grandmother used to say, the author “preached a sermon” that will touch many people who struggle with secrets, lost hopes and dreams yet she does it with love, beauty and grace like none I have seen in a long time.  She also made me stop and think about those I have lost in my life and what secrets did they go to the grave with in order to make my life better.  We never know the price of love in life until we are the ones who are paying that price.
