“Marco, there is nothing between us anymore. I’m done. We are done. Shouldn’t you be off with Trish somewhere?” Her name was like bile in my mouth.

“Ally it’s not like that with her, I was just scared.” I raised my hand to stop him; I didn’t want to go through this with him all over again.

“Stop. Just Stop. There is nothing between us anymore Marco, please just leave.” I swallowed back any tears that were threating to show. Stepping back I closed the door and leaned my back on it, slowly sliding down to the ground. Inhaling deep I tried to calm my nerves and heard the flower arrangement being placed on the ground as Marco spoke.

“I know you can still hear me Ally, and I want you to know that I’ll never give up on us. Never! You hear me? I fucked up. I know I did but I love you.” As the tears dripped from my eyes I wiped them away as quickly as I could. I wasn’t crying because I was sad. I was just so tired of repeating the past five years in my head and seeing it end like this.

“Marco, please just leave me alone.” I shouted from behind the door
“I’ll always fight for you. I’ll find a way to make you mine again. Mark my words Alani, you will spend the rest of your life with me.”

Livia

Livia Jamerlan is a hopeless romantic she is always looking for her next love story to pop in her head. Though Livia kept a journal throughout her early life, she never thought about pursuing a career in writing, she always used it as form of therapy, pouring her heart out into words. It wasn’t until a story developed in her head that she decided that maybe she could write a book. At first it was just an escape from reality but now she use it as a power to put all her feelings, hopes, and fears on paper. Deciding it was time to tell her story she began to write, with each passing day the story grew, characters we formed, and what seemed like a hobby at first has now become a passion for Livia.

When Livia is not writing she is spending time with her husband and their two dogs, she might also be curled up with a new book, or she is out traveling the country to support indie authors at their book signings.

Kate McCarthy grew up in a small town outside of Port Macquarie, Australia. Raised in a house just a short walk to the beach, Kate enjoyed the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere and friendships that come from being raised in a friendly, small town area.

Temporary Bliss

When we meet Mac she is broken. Her childhood sweetheart couldn't have turned out worse and she was determined not to go down the relationship route again. She did however have 3 very different 'friends with benefits' a great best friend and was enjoying life again.

I loved Mac, Daniel and all the supporting cast. Temporary Bliss was a hot, easy read and luckily I launched straight into.........

True Bliss. Bliss Series No 2

In True Bliss we catch up with Mac and Daniel but the stars of this book are Kate (Mac's bestie, roomy and side kick in life) and Zander (Mac's hot ex fuck buddy) Hmmmmm difficult one!

In Temporary Bliss we met Kate and Zander, we knew there had been an incident that neither were talking about and sensed there could be an attraction, so no real spoilers there, what did surprise me was how likeable the characters were!

**“Okay, I literally threw myself at him, but he rebuffed my advances and put me to bed after making me take some Advil. I fell asleep with a kiss on the forehead and hearing him tell me that as much as he’d like to lose himself in me, he didn’t want me to regret him in the morning.”**

I love stories that are told from both perspectives and watching the situation being manipulated by Zander and Mac, sorry I mean, watching the story unfold from both Kate and Zan was great.

Kate is hilarious. Really really lovely and her dating disasters had me laughing out loud!


**“What I’ve found out about the aging Roger is that not only is he old enough to be my father, he’s also an accountant who works for City Hall, a job he’s had since he left college in the 80’s. He’s also never been out of the country, still lives down the road from his parents, and likes to play chess in his spare time. He’s never had a speeding ticket, never been arrested, and his hair looks like a toupee on crack.”**


Zander is a dark horse. Pre-conceptions of a male stripper? dumb, vain, vacuous, self-centered? Zan is none of these, he's hot, considerate, funny, caring, hot, passionate, hot, hot and hot!
But not without his share of dating disasters.......don't forget he's hot!

**“Holy shit. This woman isn‘t just a cougar, she’s bordering on being a hyena, willing to take prey at any costs.”**

But he's not a player, he's actually really sweet *sighs*


**“So with that in mind, I’m going to keep talking to Kate on the internet. I want to get to know her, and for her to get to know me without any awkwardness. Kate is different, and maybe different is what I need, what I want now.
Fuck, I’ve spent so much time around women, I’m starting to fucking sound like one.”**



So this is Kate and Zan's story, with a little of Mac and Superman thrown in, it's not all plain sailing but you'll be routing for them until the end!

My final thoughts on the Bliss series are, if I may, directed at BJ Harvey. I notice there's no female lead for Noah yet in #4......... *stands on tippee toes arm outstretched* Pick me! Pick me! Pick me!

I grabbed my purse and headed outside to go and buy lunch.  J was on the phone, but saw me come outside and signalled for me to
wait.
“I’m going to buy lunch, J.  And I only get an hour so
I don’t have time to wait for you,” I said, tersely.  He kept talking and scowled at me.  I turned and started to walk away from him, towards the cafe where I always bought lunch.
I could hear him muttering something into the phone and then he must have ended his call because he went silent.  Then, he barked, “Madison!”
The last thing I wanted to do was stop for him, but there was something in his tone; a ‘don’t fuck with me’ command.  So I stopped, and turned around to look at him.  Oh, my.  He was shitty. 
He stalked to where I was and got in my face.  “Why the fuck do you have to be so difficult about this?” He was fuming. Well, I could see him, and raise him in his anger.
“Maybe it has something to do with the way Scott has gone about this.  And the fact that he sent you!”
He flinched.  It was only for a second, and most people wouldn’t have even noticed it.  But I knew J, and I saw it.  It surprised the fuck out of me.  “Well then, it looks like we’ve got some shit to sort out, babe, because I’m not going anywhere.”
“I don’t want to sort shit out with you.  That ship sailed two fucking years ago, J,” I spat.
He gripped my arm, pulling me closer, “No, it fucking didn’t,” he growled, eyes blazing, “And you can’t deny there’s still something here.  I feel it and I know you feel it too.”

I laughed.  No, actually, I cackled.  “You wanna fuck, J?  I can feel that, and, yeah, if you wanna go there, I’m all for it.  But don’t mistake my desire for your cock for

Madison & J certainly certainly steamed up my kindle screen.

While there are some parts of the story I feel I still have questions about, I hope that these will get answered in further books to come in this series.

Nina’s debut novel is a great start to what I am sure will be a great series.

The Gift by Karli Perrin really is just that, a gift, a little gem of a read.  Perfect for a Saturday afternoon, curled up on the sofa with the dog and a cuppa. Short but totally sweet.

First we meet Imogen:

“I decided that the next guy to get into my pants would be ‘the one’.  You might have heard about him – he’s tall, dark and handsome”.

She’s been single for over a year and Hannah, her in your face friend is determined to make her have some fun.

Set around Christmas time, Imogen meets a sexy santa on a night out, and I have to say that from this point on the banter between Blake and Imogen is laugh out loud hysterical.  They are unashamedly flirting and it’s so perfectly sweet to read.

The dialogue when they first meet is genius, I really hold my santa hat off to Ms Perrin.

“He was gorgeous and he was cleaning my flat.  Could it get much better than that?  Well, he could be naked”. Imogen

 

“Are you coming inside?” Imogen

His eyes turned fiery, “Are you asking me a serious question or are we still talking in code?”Blake

This is a really fun read and makes a refreshing change from all the angst and drama we submerge ourselves in.
