My Review:
I knew I
was going to like Ms Winters book when I read her *Disclaimer* & *Final
Note* because she clearly has a fabulous
sense of humour.
“If you didn’t know yet, this book
has sex. Lots of it. It dances with grief, slavery, and has a whole bunch of
mind-fuckery. If you’re looking for a sweet, Young Adult romance, delete
immediately, this will make your eyeballs bleed.” Pepper Winters
Reading the
reviews about Tears of Tess, it would appear that Pepper Winters is causing
quite a stir with her debut novel, the controversy seems to be is it Dark enough?
The
Prologue opens with “Three little words” and by the end of page 2 I was
certainly hooked by those “Three little words”
Tess is in
a safe relationship with the lovely and perfectly normal Brax, her life is neat
and tidy and he treats her like a fragile little bird to be nurtured and loved
and there is no denying he loves her but in a fairly predictable manner. Tess however, is harbouring thoughts of
sexual adventure, although she is somewhat ashamed of her feelings, when she does
try to inject some fun in to her sex life she has her advances dismissed as a
little weird.
“Rejection crushed, I
dropped my gaze. The tingles between my
legs popped like dirty bubbles…” Tess
It is
during a romantic trip to Mexico that Tess’ life changes beyond recognition,
beyond anything she could have imagined and to a place that it will be
impossible for her to return. Kidnapped
and sold as. Well as what? That is what
we are about to find out.

drinking him in – the owner of this house.
The Owner of…me. No, Never.” Tess
“He was smooth water –
effortless in refinement but just like water, dangerous if you couldn’t swim” Tess
Q met my eyes, and his simmering anger made me
swallow. “Am, I in trouble?” He looked
as if he wanted to put me over his knee and spank me.
His lips twitched and he slapped the side of my
ass “Ah esclave you’re in serious trouble.
I’ll never be able to leave you alone now.”

I am
ruined, I have been Q’d, that night in bed my thoughts were of him, and how the
hell I was going to write the words that would explain to anyone who hadn’t
read it yet how I had fallen for a monster?
Pepper’s
debut novel is dark, captivating,
heartbreaking and more, but you are not going to be able to resist it, once you
start you won’t be able to put it down.
