I loved On My Knees. I was captured from the first page. On My
Knees takes you on such an amazing journey of second chances, love, loss,
heartbreak, and recovery.
Maya is a college student at the
beginning of the book. She has lived a very rough life. Her mom has been living a rough life away
from Maya. It has broken Maya in many ways and she feels like the poor broken
girl.
Cameron is the sweetest and sexiest
man. You can’t help but fall in love
with him. When the book starts he is home on leave from the Military.
The story begins five years ago when
Cameron and Maya are dating and he proposes and she says no for many
reasons. He immediately is heartbroken
and runs back to the military. She is so
heartbroken he won’t let her explain her reasons.
Neither one has ever gotten over the
other both lost and alone.
5 years later they both end up in
New York living in the same neighborhood.
They run into each other by accident on the street. They are both shocked but can’t stop thinking
of the other.
In the beginning they are trying to
figure out where they go from here. They
both have changed so much but the feelings are still there from five years
ago. Things slowly move from friends to
lovers. They have the HOTTEST off the charts sex life.. (fans self)
They both still love each other but it’s so
hard to admit that when you’ve been hurt so much by the other.
“I want you to feel everything. I
want you to remember everything.”
They are thrown so many twists and
turns it’s hard to get past it all. Can
they make it work and have their forever or will it all be too much and they
find love with others?
There were many times you’ll want to
slap Maya for all her insecurities but her heart is just so insecure you can’t
help but be heartbroken for her.
“I can make you happy, the way you
make me happy. I know I can. If you just
give me a chance. If it’s not too late.”
No spoilers here but the epilogue
was perfect.. LOVED it!! Looking forward to Into the Fire, Darren
& Vanessa story.
