**Review Tour** Chasing Serenity by Eden Butler

Graduate student Autumn McShane has had her share of heartbreak. She's been abandoned and betrayed and she lost her beloved mother in a tragic car accident five months ago. That loss damaged her body and fractured her spirit but she's learning to recover, until her ex-boyfriend returns to town, intent on making her life miserable.

Declan Fraser hates her ex as much as Autumn does, but the last thing she needs is to put her trust in the hands of another man, especially one like Declan: his hard body and lulling Irish accent makes more than a few girls weak-kneed. The talented rugby player is rude and sarcastic, with tattooed, muscular arms and a cocky attitude, but he's the only one who can help Autumn win an ill-advised bet that, if lost, could cost her more than she's willing to pay. The reluctant alliance between Declan and Autumn stirs up cravings she doesn't want to admit, but Declan is a hard man to resist.

Just when Autumn starts letting down her carefully constructed walls to the sexy bad boy, he betrays her when she needs him most. Autumn suspects Declan has secrets, and she is determined to uncover what drove him away from her, even if that means fraternizing with the enemy. But will the truth return Declan to her arms or add to the scars on her heart?

Eden Butler is an editor and writer of New Adult Romance and SciFi and Fantasy novels and the nine-times great-granddaughter of an honest-to-God English pirate. This could explain her affinity for rule breaking and rum. Her debut novel, a New Adult, Contemporary (no cliffie) Romance, “Chasing Serenity” will launch October 2013.

When she’s not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack Sparrowesque ancestor, Eden edits, reads and spends way too much time watching rugby, Doctor Who and New Orleans Saints football.

You can find Eden on GoodReadsFacebook andTwitter.

4.5 Bare Naked Stars

I LOVED Chasing Serenity.  Eden Butler did such an amazing job developing the characters. I was hooked from the first chapter.  I couldn’t put the book down.  I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen next.

Autumn is 23 and has seen more than most see their entire life.  She is a graduate student assistant teaching at the local University. She is very proud to be a book geek along with her closest friends. I just love her strong stubbornness.

Declan is a sophomore HOT rugby player recruited from Ireland. He is sexy, alpha male, but has the biggest heart.  Did I mention he was HOT and Irish?
 (swoon)

Tucker is Autumn’s ex boyfriend.  All he cares about is what’s best for him.  He never cared what Autumn wanted or needed in their relationship.  He is back in town to be the Rugby captain.  He wants to win Autumn back.

Chasing Serenity has the best secondary characters. Autumn’s girlfriends are so much fun and are her family.  I really enjoyed them and can’t wait to see them develop more in the upcoming books.

Autumn’s mom was killed in a car accident five months ago and Autumn was in the car with her.  It’s heartbreaking to watch her rebuild her life.  When she was a teenager her father just up and left her and her mom.  He gave her no explanation as why he was leaving.  This crushed Autumn and turned off her trust in guys.  The year before her mom died her boyfriend (Tucker) just left town to pursue his career without any thought to Autumn.  Between all these tragic events Autumn is very closed off to anyone except her closest friends.

Tucker thinks he can come back and pick up where he left off.  What he doesn’t realize is Autumn has moved on and isn’t the same person anymore.  She’s changed and is much stronger now.  She has no interest in getting back together with him.

When Declan and Autumn meet its not under the best of circumstances to put it mildly. But there is a deep attraction there felt by all.  They had an undeniable spark that won’t go away.  It was the strongest either has ever felt.

The banter they shared getting to know each other was hilarious and so fun to read.  I really enjoyed the build up between these two.  You couldn’t deny the attraction and friendship that developed.  Delcan understood Autumn better than Tucker ever did. He truly cared what she wanted and what was best for her.

**"And now, I don't care about being so fecking weak, wanting you, loving you . . . I don't care about needing you. If that makes me weak, then so be it, if it means you love me too."**

Autumn’s dad comes back into town to try and rebuild their relationship.  Things are strained at first.  Then they slowly start making mends. It’s a bumpy road but one that they conquer together.

Things are going great between Autumn and Declan then they are thrown a huge hurdle.  Can they get past this huge hurdle and find happiness or go their separate ways?  I loved that they are thrown this huge hurdle. It was so unexpected and provided some really interesting twists in the story.  I couldn’t put the book down!! I had to know what was going happen to them.

**I love you, Today, because you give me peace, you give me a sense of who I am meant to be, because you proved that not every word is a broken promise. And I love you, Tomorrow, because you are limitless, because every thought, every hope I have right now is reflected in you. I can't say I love you too much because my heart is an all-consuming, constantly replenished source of potential. It is full, bursting with hope, with serenity.**

I was so excited to find Behind the Pitch – Delcan’s POV. I can’t wait to read it.  I absolutely LOVE books from the male POV.  Run and read Chasing Serenity and then Behind the Pitch.  You won’t be disappointed.

I loved the ending.  I thought it was a perfect way to end the book.  This is Eden's debut book. She did an amazing job developing the characters.  Looking forward to reading Behind the Pitch and Finding Serenity – Mollie’s story.
