**Blog Tour** Fragile Bonds by Sloan Johnson

Fragile Bonds Blog Banner

"Without trust, we have nothing."
These are the words which have haunted Melanie Erickson for six years. When she walked out of the house Xavier Ross bought as their forever home, she thought she was closing that door permanently, but fate had other plans.
Xavier Ross tried to keep everyone at a distance until Melanie came into his life. The more he tried to fight his feelings for her, the more he fell in love. One rash decision fractured the trust that was essential to their relationship.
Six years later, she is the last person he expects to see walk through his front door. Will Xavier and Mel be able to learn to trust one another again so they can fulfill a dying woman’s wish?

Tammy's 4 Bare Naked Stars ****

Fragile Bonds will pull at your heart from the first page to the last.  A story of love, lost, death, forgiveness and second chances.  A very powerful and moving story.

Alyssa is dying from Leukemia.  She’s an amazing strong fighter that wants her last days to be spent happy with her family.  Not focused on her impending death.

Xavier is a man that hasn’t always been the best husband and father.  But he changes all that when his wife is diagnosed with leukemia .

Melanie – a hospice nurse. Taking care of Alyssa during her final days.  But also the first love of Xavier.  She’s grown and changed a lot since their relationship ended.

Jacob – sweetest little boy dealt one of the hardest situations in life.  Mom isn’t going be there to see his 5th birthday.

Against everything Melanie thought possible she becomes close friends with Alyssa.   The entire family counts on Melanie’s help every day.  They are all becoming closer and closer.   But no one tells Alyssa about Xavier and Melanie prior relationship.  They are all afraid of telling her. But she has known all along. They find out on the day of her death.

Xavier loves his wife more than anything.  He is devoted to her till she takes her last breath and beyond.  But he still has unresolved feelings for Melanie.

Melanie and Xavier relationship ended badly with lots of regrets.  They had some outside forces interfering with them reconnecting.

"There was a time when Melanie was the most important person in my life. She was my world. And then everything we shared crumbled. Deep in my heart, I know that there will always be a place where Melanie resides, but I can't allow that to come to the surface because Alyssa and Jacob are my life now. The bond that will never be severed with Melanie has to remain a secret because I will never do anything that will hurt them."

Its just heartbreaking watching Jacob and Javier last days with Alyssa.  Have your tissues ready!!

"For now, I need to focus on helping him create a lifetime of memories."

Melanie has become such an important part of the family.  After the funeral Jacob misses her so much.  She remains an important part of their family.  Can they both learn to forgive each other for the past?

Can Melanie and Xavier have a second chance at love or has too much happened?

"I think that everyone has that one person in their lives that can affect them, even if it's been twenty years and they separated on bad terms, and Xavier is mine."

So much to overcome for Xavier, Melanie, and Jacob.  Can they make it past all life has thrown at them and become a solid family?

I loved the story was told from Melanie, Xavier, and Alyssa points of view.  Made you feel for each of  them separately and all together..

No spoilers here but I loved the epilogue…  Such a perfect ending to a very emotional and heartbreaking story.  I would love to see Brandon (Xavier’s brother) get his own story next.
