Nicola Haken is a very funny, totally kick ass Rochdale lass, a fellow brit chick, who if you follow her on facebook or are part of her Cocky team, you will know what a thoroughly dirty mouth this fabulous lady has and how she likes to bestow her friends with naked men pictures. And this is what led me to read Being Sawyer Knight.

Being Sawyer Knight was my first read that completely concentrated on an M/M relationship.

“So tell me. What’s it like being Sawyer Knight?”

I gave the same robotic answer I’d been trained to give a thousand times……..

Sawyer Knight is living the high life, at the top of his game, as lead singer and rock god of Souls of the Knight, women are falling at his feet and he isn’t exactly fighting them off.

But in reality he is miserable and lonely. He no longer craves the life he has made for himself.

But when an old friend from the past reappears it reignites feelings he has been trying his best to forget for the last 10 years.

…………the only thing I could remember about him was the way his lips felt on mine.

I was fucking screwed.

I was worried this book wouldn’t work for me, a hot rock god having lots of sex with his equally hot security chief, would I feel the connection between these two men, would I sympathise with Sawyer’s insecurities.

Yes! Yes! And freakin YES”!

“Wow. Who would’ve thought Sawyer Knight – king of the music world – is a giant pussy?”

Jake soon won Sawyer over in the bedroom but could he make Sawyer see that he had nothing to lose outside of it. Sawyer’s insecurities led him to believe he would be finished if he was honest about his sexuality, that his band would not stand by him. Nicola handles these feelings with a real sensitivity that weaved through the story.

But even through the tenderist of moments Haken, fires us a line that will have you chuckling to yourself. Which if like me you were lay by the pool on holiday, makes you look a little damn silly, sniggering away to yourself.

“If you jack off in the shower, make sure you think of me” he whispered, ensuring I would indeed be jerking off in the shower.

“You’re gonna kill me, Jake Reed”

“But not before showing you the world, Sawyer Knight”

Admit it you are totally swooning right now!

Jake and Sawyer were hot together, over and over, if you know what I mean, but a near tragedy opens Sawyers eyes and we cross our fingers he will finally see the truth of what is around him.

Fabulous read, can’t wait for more and hope we get to meet Sawyer and Jake again.
