Pain, desperation and grief.
For Ashley Akerman, they are things that she has grown accustomed to feeling over the twenty-five years of her life.
She always found it difficult to integrate into society, realising that her imperfections were always going to be the cause of her own insecurities.
Stumbling upon the sassy Gabriela one day changed Ashley’s life for the better. She was introduced into a new circle of people that accepted her for her personality and didn’t judge her on her looks. But the good luck had been running for far too long... and time was up.
When that devastating moment arises and Ashley loses the support system she has grown to rely on, how will she be able to continue?
Will she revert to her previous life of merely existing as an empty shell in the world, or will the unplanned arrival of a certain Italian playboy throw everything into absolute and utter turmoil?
Finding the strength to fight on through the destruction will be key for Ashley. Will she be able to overcome the overwhelming fear of her past catching up with her once again? Can her broken soul be repaired, or has she finally reached the point of irrevocable damage?
Claire's 4 Bare Naked Stars **** Review
Marco things he has is all straight, he
lives in Milan, he loves women, women love him, but he makes it clear from the
outset, he won’t settle down, we meet him at the beginning of this book
breaking up with Sophia because they are both developing feelings that he can’t
cope with.
Ashley is a little broken, scarred by the
birthmark across her face and a tragedy in her past, made words by her
overbearing mother, she’s shy and doesn’t find it easy to understand that men
could find her attractive. Much to the
disappointment of Gabby, her best friend, roommate and Marco’s sister. She is
struggling to come to terms with the possibility that Ben, seems to want to
date her and Gabby is encouraging her to spread her wings.
**”You look beautiful. If you just stopped to look at
yourself properly, you would see what everyone else sees.”**
Ashley and Marco know each other through
Gabby who is very close to her brother and regular skype chats between brother
and sister often end with Marco chatting to Ashley in London.
When and unexpected tragedy brings Marco to
London and throws them together Ashley finds herself dealing with her growing
feelings for Marco, her developing relationship with Ben and her grief,
intermingled with some strange occurrences, and the re-appearance of her
parents in her life.
**It was wrong on so many levels.
She had slept with her best friend’s brother.
Her best friend’s grieving brother.**
Beth Ashworth leaves you guessing
throughout the book, will there be a HEA for Marco and Ashley? What about Ben
and does Melissa the bitch get murdered?? Oh – that’s just wishful thinking –
LOL
We also get a short but very sweet.
reacquaintance with some favourite characters from Beth’s first book, Broken
Truth.
All in all definitely worth a 1 click J
