**Blog Tour** The Life of Anna by Marissa Honeycutt

Title: The Life of Anna, Part 1: Enslaved
Author: Marissa Honeycutt
Genre: Dark Paranormal Erotic Romance
Publication Date: September 6, 2014

Anna's entire life was scripted out before she was born by Devin Andersen, a man who doesn't have her best interests in mind. She is destined to be a tool in the hands to gain ultimate power in the USA. No, not as the President, but as the man who controls the President.

Raised by an extremely abusive guardian, Anna was molded into the perfect sex slave for Devin's use. Devin will use Anna's unique gifts to control everyone around him and eventually take her gifts for himself.

When Devin took her for himself at the age of sixteen, she had a vision of a man. A man who Devin was very interested in. But why? Why would Devin care about a young girl's dreams?

Claire's 4* Review****

This book was intriguing right from the Synopsis.

This series is for mature adults. This series is not for people who are easily offended, get nightmares easily

We meet Anna at age 20, she has been in Devin's 'care' since the age of 12 and it seems that between 12 and 16 she was loved a nurtured by him, at 16 he removed her from his care, into the house of Jack, who seems to be Devins assistant or trusted advisor.

Here from the age of 16 to the time we meet her she was systematically abused, raped and brain washed to become a sex slave, this period of her life is glossed over retrospectively rather than visited graphically in real time, and you sense very early that this is much more about control, then about the sex side, Devlin uses the sex to punish her and reward her. Anna loves Devin (what?? I know - don't shoot the messenger) and when he brings her back and starts to spoil her rather then abuse her she is forever grateful.

'Devin had changed back to the person I knew as a child. He loved me!. The thought spread over me like warm honey.'

Devin knows that Anna has visions and the crux of these visions seem to be a German family, father and son's, the day she is brought from Jacks slavery she is introduced to the family, by Devin, and it's clear that he is manipulating the situation somehow to try and utilise Anna's power, it's also clear that while he considers himself 'top dog' within this strange organisation of men, he is a little wary of the German family.  She is wined and dined by Kurt (a son) and his father and treated extremely well, to the point that you think Kurt could be falling in love with Anna, but it is his brother, Alex, who she feels an inexplicable pull towards as he does her, for all his curt ways.

'But why does Alex look at me the way he does? I shook my head to get rid of the nonsense.'

To surmise, this book is a little confusing and not what I expected, there are clearly some paranormal traits, and the slavery aspect, although a little disturbing, wasn't as bad as I anticipated (although it's in the warning that in subsequent books it does get darker). It's definitely not a stand alone, it's the first in a series so you will be left wanting more, and will I read more? God, Yes!!

Marissa’s story of Anna began with a dream about being kidnapped with Adam Savage from Mythbusters (Yes, really). Over the next year and a half, it morphed into the story you will be reading soon. She has several other stories in progress, one of which is based on her kidnapped dream.

When she’s not writing or editing, Marissa is taking care of two young boys, training to be an astronaut, running her household, wrestling with gorillas, playing around on Facebook, promoting whirled peas, and busting her tush for her accounting degree. She enjoys chocolate, air conditioning in the desert’s summer heat, really good strawberry margaritas, sleeping, and shopping
