Tara's 4 Bare Naked Star Review
“Unzipping her suitcase, Lily wondered what kind of man would live alone in such a large and
uninviting house, with only a maid and a manservant for company. She’d find out soon
enough.”
Where do I begin? Dark Erotica has never been my first choice for reading. But when I was
asked to read this book for my review, I accepted with an open mind. I believe when reading
any genre that is not your “go-to” you need to be open to whatever the author gives you.
"She knew she should leave. That this private moment was not meant for her eyes. But she
couldn’t bring herself to move. She told herself it was fear that held her in place but she didn’t
quite believe it.”
When we meet Lily, we are whisked away to the quaint country side estate of Mr. Darby. Katja
does a fantastic job of helping the reader visualize the setting. The way she describes the
surroundings and the characters creates a book so fascinating, I could not put it down. The one
thing I really struggled with were my emotions. I wanted to hate this book, due to the content. I
wanted to feel so uncomfortable with what Mr. Darby opened up Lily’s mind to. A couple of times
I felt these emotions, but what I really felt was the raw, intense sexual passion that the
characters in this book owned. I literally could not put this book down (I think I finished it in a
couple of hours).
“They had turned her into something terrible. But seeing the ginger, Lily realized she would
never again be aroused by the easy, uncomplicated romances that had once filled her head.”
Even though In the Valley of Lily would not be a book I would gravitate towards, I am really glad
I got the chance to read it. Katja’s writing style is so strong and captivating, I found myself
craving more! With that being said, I cannot wait to read more from this wonderfully talented
author!
