Holy hell, this book was HOT!! I read it in one day, and am currently suffering the worst book hangover I’ve had in a long while. I can honestly say there was nothing about it that I didn’t like. Maria is a super hot, sexy, sensual latina with an inner fire and sass that inspires greatness. The type of woman that wars are fought over, and men lose their minds for. The best part about her is that her heart is as beautiful, or even more so, than the package it comes in. She is a strong woman, a survivor, and she loves with her whole heart and soul. She feels deeply, hurts deeply, and loves with all she is. The friendship she shares with her soul sisters is everything a person could ever want, and their love and bond is the stuff legends are made of. Elijah is beyond sexy, with his dark hair and green eyes. A body made for sin, and a heart and soul worth dying for. The perfect alpha male, Elijah is strong and confident, smart and completely badass. His protective instincts scream at him to take what is his, and protect it with everything he has. And don’t even get me started on his softer side…dayum. The heat and chemistry between these to is combustible, and when it finally blows…there goes the neighborhood. I adored every character, including those that didn’t take center stage in this installment. The plot and storyline were incredibly detailed and completely on point. Both flawlessly executed and totally intense. Ms. Carlan is immensely talented, a true artist at her craft, and an author that I plan to follow in every single aspect of her career. Amazing.
