Jonah Steel is determined to uncover the mysteries surrounding his family, while also uncovering the delectable secrets hidden under the demure sweater sets of Dr. Melanie Carmichael. The stunning woman has Joe by the balls, and he can’t find it within himself to mind…nope, not one little bit. When something from her past comes back to haunt her, Jonah won’t rest until he knows she is safe.
Melanie Carmichael has dedicated her life to helping others overcome the traumas of their past. Her work with the Steel family brought her face to face with Jonah Steel, the one man she can’t say no to. As her relationship with Jonah grows hotter, Melanie loses her heart to the masculine and ruggedly gorgeous Steel brother. While Burn comes through with answers, it brings to light even more questions about the Steel family and the skeletons in their closet. The web of deceit, lies, and treachery continues to grow with each new reveal. The casualties continue, with devastation hitting those close to the family as well as the family themselves. With every installment in the series, Ms. Hardt drags you further and further into her labyrinth of dark secrets, hidden atrocities, and lost innocence. Every chapter demanded I read another, until I reached the end and there was no more to be had. The plot and storyline continue to be meticulously planned, weaving a story so complex and suspenseful that I am left breathless. I honestly don’t know how Ms. Hardt keeps it all straight!
The writing is flawless, well done and easy to read. Burn keeps you hooked from beginning to end, and beyond. The character development is incredible, each one complex and distinct. Each character their own person, and each one completely real and relatable. I fall more and more in love with this series with each new release.
