5 Star Review by Kristie K
Another chilling masterpiece from the indomitable Helen Hardt, Surrender will bring you to your knees…
Surrender is the 6th installment of the Steel Brothers Saga, and the third and final book that focuses on the oldest Steel brother, Jonah, and his woman Melanie Carmichael.
I’m not sure how Ms. Hardt does it, but this series has only gotten better as it has progressed. Every time I think we are coming to a conclusion, where we will get some answers, Ms. Hardt throws a wrench in the works and totally blows my mind! Sure, we get answers…swiftly followed up with gut wrenching new secrets that require answers of their own! I honestly don’t know how she keeps this web of lies, treachery, and deceit straight!
The entire series has proven to be a complex web of interlacing storylines and characters, each one with their own heartbreak and destruction. Each book flows seamlessly into the next, even when the lead character focus changes. Surrender is another example of how incredibly detailed, intricate, and well executed the plot and storyline are for the entire series. Jonah and Melanie face their fears, their demons, and their insecurities…
surrendering, if you will, to the deep love and affection they have for one another.
Their journey hasn’t been easy, but it is oh so worth it. In every installment we get to see even more depth to these characters, more insight into their hearts and souls. I bow to the genius that is Helen Hardt, and wait with bated breath for the next installment that will feature the youngest Steel brother, Ryan.
As I said before, Ms. Hardt’s words are my drug of choice…and she is my dealer.
