Tara's 5* review

LP has a way of taking death and darkness and making it beautiful. She can take the most evil being, and turn them into someone we’ve secretly wished we have loved.

“My fathers side of the family taught me business, but my mothers side of the family taught me that violence should always be brutal, memorable. Put a man down once properly and he’ll never rise again.”

Meet Judas. Born into evil, Judas only knows power and death. While living a pseudo life, Judas meets Delilah by mere chance. Pouring out her heart and seeking redemption for her sins, Delilah falls towards Judas, not knowing the true life he lives. Delilah character isn’t innocent. She likes to live life to the fullest, even if it means taking risks. Her connection with Judas is so electric you will be hanging in to each word that LP writes. Judas can bring even the purest of people to their knees. His character is confident, powerful and oh so sexy. Together, they are perfection.

“We’re darkness and light, hard against soft, the tainted against perfection. We’re a storm and I want to throw my head back and bask in the deep rumble of thunder, the ironic thrill of being powerless and turning yourself over to something greater.”

I cannot praise this book enough. So raw and filled with desire, The Pope will have you on your knees, begging for more. More sin, more carnage and more emotion.

“Normal people acting in normal human ways, seeking absolution, just so the pearly white gates are open to them. And I, the false pretender, grant them their salvation, knowing they’re not truly sorry for any of it, because isn’t that the way the world works?”
