Synopsis

My Review

I adore Sloan Johnson, I mean she gave us the hot and domineering Dylan Caprese, and for that I will be eternally grateful.  So now she brings us Tommy & Holly, in this continuation from Unexpected Angel.

Tommy & Holly are not really a likely couple given their current situation, he’s a Cop, she’s a drug addict who made the ultimate betrayal to her friend in book 1.

However Tommy feels a connection, he wants to protect her from herself and from the influences of her past, is Holly ready for that?

Now admittedly Holly was not my favourite person in Unexpected Angel, her betrayal was too much for me to forgive, but something about this story thawed my anger towards her and I was given a better understanding of her life and struggles.

We still get to see Dylan & Tasha, and other characters are introduced, but ultimately this is Tommy and Holly’s tale and as always Sloan delivers in the super-hot kink arena, but also delivers a story of emotional connection and the physical element only adds to the story.

But yes there is a cliff-hanger, a bloody great, huge what the hell just freakin well happened, go back and read the last few pages again and again to make sure you didn’t miss something,  kind of cliff-hanger.

For me personally though I kinda like books that do that to me, you simply never forget books like this……..great book, loved it.

 

 

Excerpt

I nod, my throat constricted by the emotion I’m not used to feeling. “Good girl,” he whispers in my ear before drawing the lobe into his mouth, sucking and nipping. He continues working his way down my neck, biting mycollarbone harder than I’m used to. I jerk in surprise, but not in pain. “Don’t stop,” I beg him. My mind doesn’t seem to process the fact that he’s on the wrong end of my body to make my core clench tight. I never knew before now that it’s possible to be driven to climax without any direct contact with either my nipples or pussy. I scream his name as my head falls back, eventually allowing my head to come back to rest on his shoulder. “Such a responsive girl,” he praises me as he holds me close to him.

“What about you?” I ask when my breathing returns to normal.
