When Katie Harrington becomes engaged to Branson Stone she believes her life is right on track for all her dreams to come true.

However, flashes of a life she never lived haunt her—leading her to discover a past that has been purposely erased from her memory in order to protect her from horrible truths.

The look on her fiancĂ©’s face as she retells everything she remembers will forever be etched in her mind. Instead of catching and comforting her, he lets her go.

Retreating to the family’s cottage on the Outer Banks for the summer, Katie’s heart begins to heal. She succumbs to the allure of a dangerously handsome local, Aidan Romero. But as soon as Katie begins to let go and move on with Aidan . . . Branson finds her.

Now Katie is torn between two lives—facing her painful past with Branson, or moving on with Aidan and keeping the secrets safely buried forever.

Tammy's Review

5 Bare Naked Stars *****

Wow I’m speechless.  Right from the beginning I was hooked! This was such an amazing book that took you on a journey of sweet young love, heartache, tragedy, and a very dark life on the streets.  This is definitely not a light hearted read.  It takes you into some very dark and deep areas.
I loved Katie from the beginning. She has her life planned out thinking she’s just an ordinary college student wanting to be a nurse and get married.  She has no idea that everything she knows is a lie.
Branson was the total jock!  He had looks that were to die for and he was a star tennis player.  This all changed when he met Katie. He fell in love immediately with her fun loving spunk.  Everything seemed perfect for the couple they were in love and getting married in a few months.

I’ll always fight for, you’re worth fighting for.

Suddenly everything changes when Katie remembers that her childhood wasn’t as she thought.  When she starts to remember her dark and dangerous childhood, Katie tells Branson all about it and he is shell shocked!!  He just sat there, didn’t say a word, and let Katie walk out the door.  Katie thought he was disgusted by her so she left and ran away with her grandma to a remote beach town.  She felt like he wasn’t going fight for her.

While at the beach she met Aidan.  He was sexy, dark and dangerous. He was the perfect combination to get her interested and over her heartbreak.  They started out as friends and then things started to progress.  He was madly interested in her but she was still overcoming a broken heart.  She really liked that he didn’t know all about her past.

"So you'd rather live a lie with someone you barely know, than live in the truth with me?"

Branson finally finds her and convinces her how sorry he was for his initial reaction.   He had been trying to find her all summer.  Now she has to choose between the loyal amazing man that broke her heart or the dark, dangerous, sexy man of her dreams.

I loved the journey we went on in this story.  There were lots of shocking twists and turns which were totally unexpected that kept you reading.  This story is really different from a lot of the current themes in books recently.  It's a heartbreaking reading about her past but it makes you proud of all she overcomes. Its such an amazing story.
I loved Torn!  The ending was perfect.  I would definitely read another book by Eleanor Green.
