4.5 Bare Naked Stars
I have always loved Kim Karr’s writing ever since I
first read Connected and after reading ‘Dazed’ I’m even more in love with her
writing and her ability to grasp you from the first page and have you hooked. Although it’s only a novella and a short read
it’s just enough to satisfy you until Kim’s next full book.
‘Dazed’ centres around Dahlia’s best friend Aerie and
River’s sexy as sin, model turned actor cousin Jagger. They’re connection is instantaneous and only
grows as the book progresses. Unlike Connected, where Aerie exuded confidence,
and strong-willed, we see a completely different side to her. We see just how
vulnerable she really is, the walls that she has built around her and the need
for order in her day to day life.
Enter Jagger, tall, gorgeous, amazing sense of
humour..oh and he’s a model...ooh and he speaks French ~sighs~ did I mention
he’s a model??.. Anyhoo... from the very first moment he met Aerie he gets her venturing
out of her comfort zone, doing things and trying things that she would never
normally try. He is a breath of fresh air for her and she finds herself happy
and ok with doing them.
Both Jagger and Aerie have experienced heartache in the
past, which led them to steering clear of falling in love again. But, these
feelings that Aerie has are unlike anything she has ever felt before and that
scares her. So Aerie tries to fight the feelings she has towards him, but Jagger
will do anything to keep her in his arms and in his life. His attraction to
Aerie is so much more powerful than what he has ever felt and he doesn’t want
to lose that.
“I
feel connected to him in a way I’ve never experienced. And my desire for him
soars unlike anything I have ever felt.” ~ Aerie.
However, when Aerie discovers something Jagger has kept
from her, she feels betrayed and broken hearted.
Will Jagger be able to fix things and win back Aerie’s
heart and trust? Or is just too much?
Once again Kim has shown her amazing talent at writing a
wonderful and captivating story so full of emotion that jumps out of the pages.
You instantly connect with the characters, their story and their love. The only
thing I wish was that it was longer. I didn’t want it to end.
I honestly don’t think Kim could deliver a bad book.
She is one of my all time favourite authors and one that I will always look
forward to reading.
I can’t wait to start on ‘Mended’ and getting Xander’s
Story.
