Book: Rose in Bloom (Rose of Thorne Series)
Author: Mia Michelle
Genre: erotic romance
Secrets.
There are many different reasons for having secrets. Sometimes we choose to keep those secrets to protect people, while other times, they are kept out of deceit and shame. Regardless of their purpose, secrets have the power to hurt us, like nothing else. When we risk losing someone we love, we will stop at nothing, to prevent the truth from ever being known. But sometimes, secrets find their way out onto the open, revealing themselves even against our desperate attempts to keep them hidden. My secret had almost destroyed us, but through the miracle of three little words, “I forgive you,” Skylar had finally set me free from my years of torment.
Part of her died the night she lost her parents. No matter what I do, I can never get that part of her back again. Through the tragedy of that night, our lives are forever scarred, yet through our powerful love, I see her once again returning back to life, just like a perfect rose in bloom.
Now that she knows my secret, there is nothing that can ever tear us apart again…or so, I had thought.

Mia fell in love with the literary world at a very young age and began putting her active imagination to pen and paper at the age of six. Over the years, she has filled up numerous shelves with her notebooks and journals of her favorite stories. Twelve years ago, Mia began drafting The Rose of Thorne Series and through encouragement of a close friend, decided to finally take the leap of faith to bring her dream to life. She openly admits to having a hopeless infatuation with her Kindle and suffers from the one-click book addiction (No intervention required).
Mia is currently a stay at home mom who has mastered the fine art of making a PB&J sandwich in between laundry and shuttling kids to ballet and swimming. In her spare time (“What spare time?” She laughs), she enjoys photography, traveling, and having a girls night out with her pals. She enjoys the simple things in life: such as sleeping more than 3 hours per night and 10 minute showers without being interrupted by children yelling “mommy” from the other side of the bathroom door.
Mia Michelle resides in Tennessee with her soul mate and husband, along their two beautiful young children. She is currently working on drafting some exciting new projects due soon!

Mia
Michelle’s’ Rose of Thorne, a promising start to what I expect
is going to be a brilliant and captivating series.
This book follows Skylar Rose, who at 16 had to grow up
way too quickly after she tragically loses both her parents thanks to a drunk
driver. Left to take care of her younger sister, any hopes and dreams she had to
be a dancer are diminished, instead concentrating on college, work and providing
a good life for them both.
“My
world is forever shattered. Three days after the accident, I buried the two
most incredible loves of my life. I would have willingly allowed them to bury
me right along with them, but instead I had to bury my grief and be strong for
my little sister. So, I do the only thing I can do...survive. I am, after all,
a Rose by name. Waiting to bloom, and yet, wilting fast in the sun.”
But what she didn’t expect was a certain CEO—Sebastian
Thorne to enter her life and ignite feelings within her that she has never felt
before; it scares the hell out of her.
“He
makes me feel safe, and he makes me feel wanted.”
Getting behind the wheel of his car after drinking
would prove to be the worst night of a young, nineteen year old Sebastian’s
life.
Now, seven years later Sebastian is still haunted by
the events that took place on that fateful night; even more so of the beautiful
girl with turquoise eyes that he left behind in the car. He is determined to
find her, and help her in any way he can.
“Today
is the day I decide to face the past and to find those turquoise eyes. Now, I
am a Thorne in search of his Rose.”
He just didn’t expect
the swarm of feelings that would rush to the surface.
“I
stare over at her, and I don’t know what the fuck I am doing, but all that
matters right now is that I am walking beside the most intriguing creature I
have ever met, and I don’t ever want to let her go.”
Throughout the book you see both Sebastian and Skylar try
to deny their feelings for each other. The try to keep their distance, but
their connection is beyond intense. You can feel the love leaping from the
pages.
And after everything they’ve both been through in their
lives, they deserve the happiness, the love and each other.
“I
am safe...I am loved...For the first time in almost eight years, I am truly
happy.”
“You
are truly the other half of my soul. I don’t think you understand, Skylar, but
you are my reason for living...you are my lifeline.”
From the very start you are pulled in to a story of how
stupid mistakes can change the course of lives but also bring people together.
I loved that it is written in duel POV, you get more of
an insight in to what all the characters are feeling and helps you better to
understand them.
Mia did a wonderful job at making you feel every
emotion the characters go through from grief, guilt, remorse; to the intense
love and happiness that Sebastian and Skylar share for one another. You can’t
help but hope that things work out for them.
But then....
BOOM!!!.....
Cliff-hanger.
“I
have nothing left in me. I am completely hollow.”
It will leave you wanting more and have you
one-clicking the second book Thorneless
and diving right in to it.
You will not be disappointed when reading this book,
and I highly recommend it to everyone.

“One
man owns every part of my soul, while another man holds my heart. Two men, two
loves...one choice.”
OH MY!!!....just.....
Mia has left me completely dumbstruck with the latest
instalment of the Thorne Trilogy. I mean, really dumbstruck. The ending of Thorneless...GAH!!!!! I had to go
straight in to starting the third book as I COULD NOT leave it like that. I’m
still reeling after that ending.
I have to start by saying though, if you haven’t read Rose of Thorne, do so now. This is a
continuation of the first book and picks up right where Rose of Thorne left us.
After discovering a huge secret Sebastian had been
keeping from her, Skylar flees her and Sebastian’s apartment in nothing but her
pyjamas and barefooted.
She is left completely broken by the one person she
didn’t think would hurt her.
“Yesterday
my life had been perfect, but today it’s shattered. I’m stripped to the very
core of my being. My dying soul lay haemorrhaging before me. He’s ruined me at
every cost from ever loving again.”
That is until Lucas Drake re-enters her life and vows
to put back the pieces of Skylars heart back together, and forget all about
Sebastian.
“Yes,
right now my gorgeous girl is lost, but I’ll help her find herself. She’ll
learn to laugh and love again. I just pray that when she finally does, it’s me
that she loves in the end.”
Lucas is a loving and caring man and I really felt for
him in this book. He goes out of his way to help bring Skylar back to the
‘living’ and he succeeds. He truly loves her and it shows in everything he
does.
Skylar tries to give Lucas what he wants; she tries to
love him back, but the truth is her heart and soul still belong to Sebastian.
“I
want to love him. I want to be happy. Somehow, I just don’t think I’ll ever be
able to let go of the man who still owns my heart.”
And if you think Sebastian is out of the picture, it’s
not going to happen.
“There
is no way I am letting the love of my life go. I’ve kept away for far too long.
Whether she is willing to right now or not, I’ll fight for us. What Skylar and I
have is beyond epic. Our love isn’t like anything you see every day. People
live their entire lifetimes without ever witnessing this. We are meant to be
together and I’ll be damned if I allow Lucas Drake to have what is mine. She is
and always will be just that—mine.”
Mia takes you on one hell of a rollercoaster ride with Thorneless. I yelled, and cried and
literally wanted to throw my kindle across the room. The twists and turns; you
don’t see coming, at all.
And the ending; again, it will leave you with your
heart in your throat, mouth wide open and rushing to start the final book.
I loved that it was again told in separate POV’s, as it
gives you a better understand and insight into the minds of the main characters
and what they’re feeling.
Sebastian has my heart. Don’t get me wrong, I like
Lucas and think he’s very sweet but I will always be Team Sebastian. Skylar and
him belong with each other.....I just hope they can work things out and find
each other once again.
I cannot say enough about this book. I truly, truly loved
it and couldn’t put it down until I finished it.
Thank you Mia; for again giving us an amazing and
emotional book.
I. LOVED. IT!!!!

“She
holds both the power to heal me and destroy me. I surrender to her. She owns
every part of me. She is my lifeline...she is my soul. Skylar Rose is my
everything, my forever.”
What a perfect ending to Sebastian and Skylar’s story.
After being taken on such a rollercoaster ride of trials, tribulations and
emotions, it’s so nice to see the HEA ending they both deserve.
Again, Rose in
Bloom starts off as Thorneless finished.
After being in an accident, Sebastian is left fighting for his life in hospital
with a guilt ridden and distraught Skylar by his side; praying he pulls
through. But also realising that she can’t ignore the feelings she has for
Sebastian any longer.
“Almost
losing Sebastian had been my fate. It had been the one thing I needed to open
my eyes and see what I tried so hard to ignore. He completes me. He is truly the
other half of my soul. Forgiveness isn’t easy, but when you truly love someone,
you come to realize that there is nothing you can’t forgive him for.”
Leaving a broken hearted and rejected Lucas to try and
move forward. However he doesn’t let go so easily; vowing to get his angel back
by any means necessary.
“No
matter the cost, I won’t allow her to be destroyed by him again. This time I
will save her even if she thinks she doesn’t need saving.”
But that’s not the only thing Skylar and Sebastian have
to worry about.
Skylar’s attacker, Brandon is back and ready to get her
back.
"Skylar belongs to me. She just
needs a little reminding of that once I get out of here. No one says no to
Brandon Larson. No one.”
And when Skylar goes missing, Sebastian and Lucas must
put aside the hate they feel towards each other in order to find her and save
her. They may hate each other but with the love they have for Skylar make their
working together and dedication to get her back commendable. And I loved seeing
that, Skylar really has grown in to such a strong and
confident young woman throughout the whole series, but it shows even more in
this book despite all the happenings and drama that surround her. She’s more
determined to make things work with Sebastian and a lot more content. She has
life back in her eyes and she is finally happy. It was good to see it shine
through after everything she had been through.
I loved how Mia concentrated on the male POV’s in this
book. It worked and felt right. Yes, you get to see Skylar’s POV as well, but
this was the guys’ story to tell, and it was perfect.
I’m sad to see Sebastian and Skylar’s story come to an
end but at the same time I am really looking forward to both Sophie and Lucas’s
story.
Mia, you have delivered a brilliant and gripping
series. I loved each one of the books and can’t wait for more books from you in
the future.
Your writing captures the attention of the reader and
keeps them hooked until the very last word.
Thank you for these wonderful characters and their
story.
