The much anticipated prequel to The Original Sinners takes us right back to Nora being a 15 yr old wild child and meeting her new priest.
In true Miss Reisz fashion though, the story is never that straightforward, as we enter the story in present time with Nora arriving at a cabin in the Black Forest clearly with an urn of ashes and in mourning.
There is fear in my heart as it becomes clear that neither Soren nor Kingsley is with her.
She is quickly joined by a new addition to the Sinners family who encourages her to weave her tales, to help him understand her and to help her grieve.
**"Unfortunately, there's no way to tell you the story of Kingsley and me without telling you the story of Soren and me," she said. It's all one story, the three of us."**
So she tells her... their story, and I know, you think you know it already, but you don't. This reintroduction to Nora is full of surprises, lost loves, revelations, and loads of the hot stuff. You'll even find yourself laughing out loud at young Nora's wit and cheek!
You might even shed a tear in parts as Nora's relationship with Soren develops and you see a completely different side to him, in particular.
Kingsley is still as magnificent and gorgeously arrogant as ever!

So the present is interlinked and interspersed with the past as stories are told and people are mourned...
This story reminded me why I love The Sinners so much, it gripped me and tied me to the bed as The Siren did when I was first introduced to it, I can't wait for Book #2 in the White Years Series!
